cv+info

My name is Katrina Yin. I am 28, and hail from Wuhan, China - by way of Singapore, Cleveland, and Philadelphia - although I have lived in New Haven and New York for most of my adult life.

I haven’t always wanted to be an architect, but after trying my hand in environmental science and finance, I appreciate the flexibility the profession offers and demands of its practitioners. My dream job - like this website - is a work in progress.

My first internship was at ICBC Beijing, working with international corporate clients. I have worked with Italian artisans, sight unseen, to create high-end custom furnitures and fixtures from scratch. I learned to manage and analyze big data as a volunteer analyst during China’s 2010 Population Census. I have designed, drawn, and built a two-family home for previously homeless clients. Most recently, my curiosity has take me to the client side of cultural commissions - helping to shape Asia’s youngest metropolis as an owner’s representative for the state in Shenzhen. I am currently a Development Associate at an Architect-Developer in Dumbo.
